The band had a busy weekend this week (2nd and 3rd September) with two outdoor gigs, fortunately, the sun decided to shine on us.
The first was Matt and Laura’s wedding at Kelham House, Newark where the band performed for everyone’s entertainment after the celebrations. The setting was beautiful and the program was all suitably chosen by Andy and Lynda Allison, members of the band, and mother and father of the bride.
It was the first concert conducted by our new music director, Chris Banks, we look forward to many more. A great time was had by all and Andy even got the drinks in!
On Sunday we performed again at the Radcliffe on Trent Village Show. We performed an entertaining set with a good mix of interesting music. Guest conductor Alex Bland was standing in for Chris and did an excellent job to get us in shape despite only one rehearsal with us.
We are looking forward to working on our program for Bolsover Festival of Brass ( Bolsover Festivals – Bolsover Festivals) which is our next outing.
