We were delighted to play in the beautiful grounds of Newark Castle this weekend with a great crowd and some great weather.
The band ably led by guest conductor Dai Maplestone played two sessions consisting of entertaining concert music including film music such as Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean and James Bond, plus solos: Georgia on my Mind from Andy Allison (Solo Cornet) and Silver Threads Amongst the Gold from Geoff Hawley (Solo Horn) .
We also played a fantastic march written by our own Geoff Hawley (Solo Tenor Horn) entitled The Netherfield Flier dedicated to the band and 94 year old Ken who is still an active member of the band on baritone.
The crowd were plentiful and enjoyed a great atmosphere in the sun.
