The band will be heading to t’other side of t’ Pennines to compete against some of the country’s finest Brass Bands around the beautiful villages around the Oldham and Saddleworth area. What a fantastic day we had on this years Whit Friday marches, we may not have won any prizes but we did manage to get to 9 playing venues. We did have a slight panic attack a couple of days before the event when Janet Bailey was taken into hospital so we were left with only one horn and no bass drum!
All was not lost as Martin Donzé stepped in at short notice to play bass drum, and what a fantastic job he did (Boom Boom!). John Wilson also decided to forsake his Eb Bass and play horn (wimp!) only kiddin John. Continue reading “Whit Friday Marches 2006”
