Cornet and percussion positions

Cornet and percussion positions

Carlton Brass - second section Midlands champions - have vacancies for a cornet player and a percussionist. We need, ideally, a strong cornet player to sit on second man down and a tuned percussionist with strong timpani skills. Both positions would give applicants the chance to play with us at the National Championships of Great Britain in Cheltenham in September. These are great opportunities for aspiring players to join an improving, successful band. Under the baton of Paul 'Wink' Watson we have won two contests this year and aim to make it three in Cheltenham. Applicants can email info@carltonbrass.co.uk or fill in the contact form below ...

Farewell Jack

Farewell Jack

Our erstwhile bumper-upper extraordinaire Jack Reeves is moving on up to the Championship section and has accepted a seat at nearby top-section band Newstead. His musicality and enthusiasm will be greatly missed by everyone in the band, but our front row especially. Jack joined us while a first year student at Nottingham University and has spent four years with us. His playing has always been top-notch and he's been a solid understudy and bumper-upper for our principle cornet Andy Allison. It is a great shame to lose a player like Jack, but the pleasures of the top section await and the band wish him all the best for the future. Thank you Jack - you've been great ambassador for Carlton Brass. Enjoy your time at Newstead! This does mean that we now have a vacancy for second man down. Any good quality cornet players interested in joining us please do get in touch. Email info@carltonbrass.co.uk in confidence, or visit our Contacts page for people to ring....

Percussionists needed

Percussionists needed

Carlton Brass have vacancies for talented percussionists to join the band over the summer, and perhaps beyond, to cover for maternity leave while our incumbent tub thumpers bring a new brass bander into the world. We would like both kit and tuned percussionists that would be able to play at the majority of our sensible summer programme, and perhaps be available for the National Finals in September. Please email info@carltonbrass.co.uk for more details or visit our Contacts page....
