2020 was a bit rubbish, wasn't it? The last eighteen months have been hugely difficult for everyone during this global pandemic, and while it is far from over we are starting to see some relaxation of the restrictions that have limited our banding activities. The priority during Covid has always been the safety of ourselves and our loved ones. While we have not been able to play together for the longest time we have understood the reasons for staying home - playing a brass instrument inside with 25 other people was not safe. We have been at home practising on our own since our last performance in March 2020 at the Regional Championships. Press Release – Carlton Band Organisation

PRESS RELEASE FROM CARLTON BAND ORGANISATION - 12 February 2016 WHAT HELP DO WE NEED? We need to find premises with enough space for us to rehearse and store our instruments and music. WHY DO WE NEED IT? The Carlton Band organisation (Registered Charity No 504547) has been resident in our bandroom at Station Road, Carlton for over 60 years. We now need to vacate the premises, ideally by the end of March 2016 in order to support Netherfield's urban regeneration and social housing development. The band therefore urgently needs premises for rehearsals and children's tuition groups. WHO ARE WE?  The Carlton Band organisation comprises two bands: Carlton Brass is proud to be Nottingham's premier brass band, consisting of ~25 musicians performing regularly across the region. We have had a successful year taking first prize in the North East Midlands Brass Band Association competition in February 2015 and repeating this a month later at the Midlands Area Championships.
