Sunday July 6th 2008. Carlton Brass are delighted to have been invited to play at the RAF Waddington International Air Show. This is an incredible event featuring some impressive air displays, exhibitions, crafts, classic cars and, of course, Carlton Brass providing some of the musical entertainment.

This is an all weekend event but we will be playing between 3 – 3.45 & 4.30 – 5.15 approximately, in number 3 hangar. There promises to be an exciting collection of bands playing during the weekend so please come and hear us play.

Party in the Park with Carlton Male Voice Choir

Sunday June 22nd 2008. Carlton Male Voice Choir are celebrating their centenary in 2008 and Carlton Brass have been invited to play at their party in the park. The event is being held at Mellish Rugby Club starting at 5.50pm and the band will be playing at around 8 o’clock.

There will be other musical entertainment on the day too. There will be a bar and some informal, impromptu singing. Bring your own chairs, food and drinks (the band have been asked to pay £3 per person for corkage which will be refunded with a beer voucher) and enjoy the party atmosphere.

Bands in the Park

Sunday 8th June 2008. Carlton Brass will be performing at the Arboretum as part of Nottingham City Council’s Bands in the Park festival. We will be playing a selection of traditional brass band music along with arrangements of popular works from other genres between 2pm and 5pm.

This is a beautiful location and entrance is free. Please come along with your picnic chairs and lunch boxes to support the wonderful event.

Gedling Proms – Carlton Forum

Proms Pomp and Glory

The year’s council events start with Gedling Proms on 18 February, when the audience will be brought to its feet to the rousing tunes of Pomp and Circumstance, Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia. The concert, featuring Bestwood Male Voice Choir, Carlton Brass Band and guest soloist Sara Lawson, takes place at Carlton Forum Leisure Centre in Carlton’s Coningswath Road and will be compered by BBC Radio Nottingham’s Sarah Julian. Tickets are available from Gedling Borough Council Leisure Centres at £5.00 and £4.00 for concessions.

Southwell Minster

This sparkling charity concert compered by the Rev Howard Ketton delighted a packed Minster audience.

Hosted by an on-form Carlton Male Voice Choir and featuring the talents of Carlton Brass, conducted by Tony Wilson, and the Lace City Singers, led by Glenn Chaney, this, the fourth Macmillan concert, brought together more than 160 singers and musicians.

Carlton Brass played in rousing style and cornet player Steve Parker’s solo, Tender Loving Care, was brilliant.

The 60-strong male voice choir conducted by Terry Moore and accompanied by Roger Holland enriched proceedings.

Fresh from their visit to Detroit for the Sweet Adelines International Convention, the Lace City Singers showed why they are regarded as one Britain’s finest barbershop choirs. They dazzled generally and showed real class with Anthem from the musical Chess.
